Nominations for 2026 Sir Julius Vogel Awards now open!
Nominations for the 2026 Sir Julius Vogel awards are now being accepted. The nomination period will close at 11:59pm on 31 March 2026.
The SJV awards recognise excellence in science fiction, fantasy, or horror works created by New Zealanders and New Zealand residents, and first published or released in the 2025 calendar year. Anyone can make a nomination and it is free!
To make a nomination please fill in this form. See the website for the categories and get busy reading NZ authors and watching NZ movies.

The awards ceremony will be held later in the year, full details to be announced.

2025 Sir Julius Vogel Award Voting Now Open!
Voting for the 2025 Sir Julius Vogel awards is now open.
The voting paper can be found on the 2025 SIr Julius Vogel Award finalists page
Voting will take place electronically. All votes must be received by 11.59pm on Thursday 17 April 2025. To be eligible to vote, you must be a current member of SFFANZ. You can find more about joining SFFANZ here.
The awards will be presented at the SFFANZ Annual General Meeting /SJV awards event hosted by Concatenation 2025.

2024 SFFANZ Annual General Meeting Information
Please find below the notice of meeting for the 2024 SFFANZ AGM, the new constitution for ratification at the AGM and a copy of the 2023 SFFANZ AGM minutes.
The 2024 AGM will be held at 1pm, July 7th at The West Plaza Hotel, Wellington during Conitnuity, this year’s national science fiction convention.
2024 Sir Julius Vogel award paper now available!
The 2024 voting paper is now available.
Voting is now open and will close at Midnight (11.59pm) on June 22nd. Electronic and postal voting is accepted.
THe winners will be announced at a ceremony on June 6 at Continuity 2024
