As part of the Sir Julius Vogel Awards, we put together a downloadable packet of works that have been nominated for this year’s Sir Julius Vogel Award. We can only include works that the creators and publishers allow us to, and we appreciate their trust. In order to keep that trust, we have set up a download technique that allows us to restrict access only to eligible people. To be eligible you must be a member of SFFANZ or this years National Science Fiction Convention. And we also require that if you download the files, you do NOT share them with anyone else, in any way.

This is how it works

We have set up a packet folder on Google Drive so that access can be restricted to specific people. We have a Google group that you can be added to, which will give you access to the SJV Packet folder. And we can also let you know when updates happen via that group.

In order to get access

  • You need to be a member of SFFANZ, or this years National Science Fiction Convention.
  • You need a Google account.
    • Google accounts are easy to create, and can be created with a minimum of information. You can even create one with an existing email address, rather than creating a new address that is Google specific.

Initially the packet may be empty or have few works in it. But by signing up, you will be notified when new works are available.

To download the packet:

  • Log in to your Google Account.
  • Go to this link: https://groups.google.com/a/sffanz.nz/g/sjv-voter-packet
  • Apply for membership to the Google Group.
  • The email address you request access from must be the same email address with which you joined SFFANZ or the National Convention. If you have a different address, then you will need to leave a note with your request about the email address you used to join SFFANZ or the National Convention.
  • We will check your email address. In order to do this, we may need to contact the National Convention and ask them if you are a member of the convention. That information will be used ONLY for this verification purpose, and for no other reason.
  • When we accept your request, you will be able to see the forum, which has the link to the SJV Packet folder in the group description.
  • If we update the packet, we will use the Google Group to let you know if there are updated packets.
  • Please note that by downloading any packet material, you acknowledge that SFFANZ are not responsible for the contents of any of the packet materials. This includes content you may find objectionable. We will make our best attempt to mark material we have been advised may contain mature themes.

If you run into a problem, or if the instructions could be clearer, then please let us know at sjv_awards@sffanz.nz
